Keith,
Thanks for the comment and stopping by! With regards to your questions:

1. I paid about 850$ for the 7.5 fx with standard components. I have a post about some of the upgrades I did to the bike (mainly pedal and handle bar upgrades). I believe normal price on the 7.5 fx is 899.99.
2. Surprisingly, the seat is extremely comfortable! One of the things I had read in researching the bike was how seat might be uncomfortable to some riders. So far I haven't considered replacing the seat. I've done some longer rides of 40-75 miles with this bike and the seat wasn't a problem.
3. Shifting action is pretty smooth. On some tough hills that I have done in Minneapolis there has been some slight problems with shifting while I am going up the hill, but I think this is something that would affect all bikes.
4. Can't comment on the Flex form technology feature cause I am not that familiar with it.

Thanks again for stopping by and commenting!

Recently I have been considering getting another TREK mountain bike, however after stopping by the TREK store the sales guy introduced me to the 7.1 . I have often used my TREK 6500 MTB around my neighborhood and realize a road bike would be better and I would probably use it more. I have been doing some research online to decide which one to get and came across you post. The interesting part is I'm a huge ATV enthusiest as well. I have a 07 Yamaha 450 Wolverine and a 07 Can Am Renegade. Anyway, about your 7.5, how mych did you pay for it, how comfortable is the seat and can you replace the seat without sacrificing the TREK Nebula Saddle with Flex Form technology feature? How smooth is the shifting action between the front and rear derailers? -Keith
